Why we started

A home base for the trails between Washington and the Blue Ridge.

We kept meeting the same people at the same trailheads - Old Rag on a Saturday, Great Falls before work, White Oak Canyon after the first spring rain. Hiking Social started as a group text and grew into a proper trail journal: honest write-ups, real mileage, and a place to find your next hiking partner.

No summit-bagging egos, no affiliate-stuffed listicles. Just people who like getting dirt on their boots in the DMV's best backyard.
